A Destination by Design

A Destination by Design

In association with our partners Eco World Ballymore, Leading Culture Destinations is proud to offer a limited number of invitations to friends of LCD for the Embassy Gardens inauguration during London’s Frieze Week.

From luxury homes to the construction of two new embassies and the world’s first sky-pool, the Ballymore Group’s Embassy Gardens development will not only see a complete regeneration of Nine Elms, but also the unveiling of three new sculptures by internationally acclaimed artists Sarah Lucas, Mohammad Qasim Ashfaq and Simon Fujiwara.

In partnership with Vanity Fair, the sculpture park inauguration, A Destination by Design, will be curated by Sir Norman Rosenthal, former head of exhibitions at the Royal Academy.

Turner Prize winner Sarah Lucas will create a giant marrow sculpture, whilst Qasim Ashfaq’s work, entitled Finger of God, will resemble a lightning bolt striking the earth.

Commenting on the title of Cartier Prize winner Simon Fujiwara’s foot-shaped sculpture, Modern Marriage, Rosenthal surmised that the piece will be “a timely work given the US’s decision to legalise same-sex marriage”.

Launching in two phases, with the second round of sculptures to be displayed in 2016, Rosenthal reveals that “the focus will be on younger British artists” to offer a contemporary counterpoint to the statues and monuments of London’s other green spaces.

For this exclusive opportunity to meet the artists and preview one of London's most exciting new developments please get in touch with the team at Leading Culture Destinations.
