LCD ACADEMY

LCD Academy launched a new programme enabling cultural organizations and cities to create new funding opportunities through ESG (Environmental / social / governance). Launched in 2022 our programme extended from Berlin to Amsterdam, taking more than 250 participants on a journey to get ESG ready, building capacity to sustain their social, cultural & commercial infrastructure.

The world’s first city-led ESG task force is creating a new funding framework for berlin’s culture community builders offering additional value for private sector funders through SOCIAL growth DATA impacting ESG ratings.

Utilising the ESG market tail wind our task force will enable policy, cultural and private sector stakeholders to grow LOCAL ROI AND SROI FOR THEIR STAKEHOLDERS - AND FOR FUTURE CITIES WORLDWIDE. 

THE ESG INNOVATION COLLECTIVE LAUNCHED THEIR MANIFESTO AT THE IHIF IN BERLIN WITH KEY STAKEHOLDERS FROM CITIES (AMSTERDAM, BERLIN), PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERS AND ACADEMIA MEMBERS.

VENICE BIENNALE 2021

Lcd has partnered with Caravane Earth, an international foundation based in the netherlands, in order to play a leading role in the venice biennale 2021. we have joined forces for the exhibition of a building specifically designed for communal gatherings and discussions: a Majlis - a traditional meeting place in Arab culture.

Curated by Jury member 2020 Dr. Thierry Morell, the Majlis is designed by world renowned bamboo architect Simón Vélez, in collaboration with the womens’ collective of weavers from the Boujad Tribe in Morocco.

lcd trends 2019-20 provided the basis for Our LCD Berlin Salon which took place at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin, bringing together a network of key industry figures to discuss how to build bridges between tourism, culture and policy makers

The discussions facilitated by Cambridge University's Johnny Cornwell resulted in some fascinating points, and the event finished with a Cocktail Party overlooking Berlin Art Week.

IN 2017, THE LCD AWARDS INTRODUCED THE INAUGURAL ‘CLIMATE SMART’ AWARD, WHICH RECOGNISES A MUSEUM OR LARGE-SCALE PUBLIC ART PROJECT THAT HAS MADE A SIGNIFICANT EDUCATIONAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE.
